It was a cold, snowy February morning in New York. You and your friends were visiting your family for the holidays and your friends had insisted, no demanded you stay for Valentines day, despite the fact it was a month after New Years. So you and your friends got a temporary home to stay in so you wouldn't be imposing on the family. Today you decided to take a walk through Central Park while your friends were shopping. "Ahhh, it's nice to have time away from them... I love them, but they can get really annoying sometimes." You said and sighed. Not far off, you noticed a person sitting alone on a bench with their head hanging down. Should I go talk to them...? You asked yourself. They seem lonely... I'll go talk to them... You walked over to the bench and sat down. "Hello, stranger." You said as politely as you could and smiled.

The person looked up and over at you. "Oh, hello. Are you lost?" They asked. From what you could tell, and from the way their voice sounded, the stranger was a man. "Because if you are, I can't really help you." He said and smiled a little. You noticed he didn't really move his mouth much.

"Oh, I'm not lost. You just... Looked lonely." You said and looked away shyly. "Unless you were waiting for someone." You looked down and wrung your hands slightly. "Oh, but I should introduce myself first. My name is [First name] [Last name]." You said and looked back up, holding out your hand for him to shake.

The man blinked, then smiled and took your hand. "I'm Ace Reages. It's a pleasure to meet you, miss [First Name]." Ace said and let go of your hand. He looked around for a little bit and then sighed slightly.

"As to you, Ace." You said and smiled. I wonder why he doesn't open his mouth much... You thought curiously, but you figured it would be rude to ask so you kept your mouth shut... At least for a few minutes, then the curiosity overcame you and you just had to know. "Um... Excuse me for prying, but I would like to know why you don't open your mouth much."

Ace stiffened slightly and looked down a little bit. "I don't want you to be alarmed..." He said quietly and glanced up to you. "And you may think I'm crazy after this, but I'm being completely honest and I want you to trust me." He sounded slightly panicked, like you might scream and run away if he opened his mouth more. "So.. Here goes nothing." He murmured and opened his mouth, showing his lengthy and very pointed canine teeth. "...I think you can tell what I am..."

You stared at Ace's teeth for a moment before smiling a little and just outright laughing. "I'm...I'm sorry, Ace... I just... Wow! I can't believe I met a vampire today! Won't my friends and family think I'm insane after this..." You shook your head and laughed. "Don't think I'm laughing at you, really! I think it's really brave of you to show me." You smiled sincerely. "And I'm glad you did show me, because that means you trust me. And I trust you too."

Ace blinked a little bit and closed his mouth again, then smiled, a wide, goofy, toothy grin, and you immediately knew at that moment you two were going to be the best of friends.

That first paragraph is way too long for my liking... D: I'm sorry...
